Sparklight announced a substantial technology donation to AZStRUT, delivering 280 devices to be refurbished and distributed to Arizona schools and nonprofits. The effort underscores Sparklight's commitment to digital inclusion across its service area.

Sparklight, a high-speed internet provider, announced a major technology donation to Arizona Students Recycling Used Technology (AZStRUT), delivering more than 280 devices—over 200 laptops, 65 desktops and 15 tablets—that will be refurbished and distributed to schools and nonprofit groups across the state.

AZStRUT, based in Tempe, recycles electronics to expand internet access for Arizonans in need while promoting sustainability through reuse. The donation aligns with its mission to reduce the digital divide for students and families who might otherwise go without essential technology.

“At Sparklight, we believe that connectivity is more than just access to the internet — it’s access to opportunity,” said Jay Macleod, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, Southwest. “By supporting organizations like AZStRUT, we’re helping to improve digital literacy and ensure that every Arizonan has a chance to thrive in today’s connected world.”

AZStRUT Executive Director Jared Bodine welcomed the gift, noting that laptops and desktops are among the most vital devices for learners. “Sparklight’s donation will make a notable impact by helping us provide the tools people need to learn, connect and succeed,” he said, adding thanks for ongoing partnership and investment in Arizona communities.

Beyond the donation, Sparklight highlighted its broader commitment to digital inclusion, including grants to STEM programs and annual charitable giving of more than $250,000 through its Charitable Giving Fund across its 24-state footprint.
