Great Plains Communications teams with Aphorio Carter to supply redundant, high-capacity fiber to a Simpsonville data center in Kentucky.

Great Plains Communications (GPC) has formed a strategic partnership with Aphorio Carter to deliver redundant, high-capacity fiber connectivity to a new colocation and data-center facility in Simpsonville, Kentucky.

Under the agreement, GPC Fiber’s roughly 19,000-mile network will connect directly to Aphorio Carter’s recently completed site, enabling enterprises and carriers in the region to access up to 400 Gbps of transport and 100 Gbps of dedicated Internet access.

The route-diverse deployment adds fiber paths toward Cincinnati and Indianapolis, enhancing redundancy and reducing latency for mission-critical workloads and cloud services.

Aphorio Carter describes the Simpsonville campus as a carrier-neutral option for regional and national tenants; the data center currently offers 10,000 square feet of raised-floor space with plans to expand to 25,000 square feet and up to 17 megawatts of power by late 2026.

Executives from both parties framed the deal as part of broader efforts to strengthen Kentucky’s digital infrastructure. GPC’s Christopher Sikora highlighted bandwidth and route diversity, while Aphorio Carter’s John Regan noted the site’s appeal to cloud, enterprise, and carrier customers.

Turn-ups are expected to begin within about 60 days after equipment installation is completed.

The collaboration aligns with Kentucky’s push to bolster data-center capacity and digital services across the region.
