GoNetspeed announced that North Hamden has achieved 100% fiber-optic internet coverage, marking Connecticut’s newest community to reach the milestone. The deployment is backed by a privately funded investment of $6 million and is expected to serve more than 8,000 residents and businesses with multi-gigabit speeds up to 6 gigabits per second.
Construction is ongoing, with crews proceeding neighborhood by neighborhood as installations are completed. Residents and local businesses can verify service availability and schedule installations through GoNetspeed’s website.
Customers will benefit from symmetric speeds, meaning upload and download rates are the same. Plans currently range from 500 Mbps to 6 Gbps, providing a consistent, future-ready broadband option for households and enterprises alike.
“Fiber-optic internet is essential in today’s world, powering small businesses and enabling immersive online entertainment,” GoNetspeed COO Tom Perrone said in a statement. “As we connect North Hamden customers, we are empowering thousands with more choice and reliable multigigabit speeds designed to support the connected lives we’re living.”
The North Hamden project builds on a recent $7 million expansion in Stratford and expands GoNetspeed’s Connecticut footprint, where it already serves Bridgeport, Danbury, New Haven, Hartford and more than 40 other communities. The company has also highlighted activity in New York in recent quarters and describes the investment as bringing “future-ready” infrastructure to towns with a focus on speed, reliability and performance.
Residents are urged to check GoNetspeed’s site for availability details and to book installations as soon as the service becomes available in their neighborhood. The expansion underscores GoNetspeed’s broader push to extend multi-gigabit fiber throughout Connecticut and beyond, aligning with a growing demand for high-speed, symmetrical broadband across urban and suburban communities.
