GoNetspeed Expands Fiber in Manchester, CT

GoNetspeed begins a $1.6 million fiber expansion in Manchester, CT, aimed at delivering multi-gigabit speeds to more than 5,000 homes and businesses.

GoNetspeed has begun a $1.6 million expansion of its 100% fiber-optic network in Manchester, Connecticut, a move the company says will bring multi-gigabit speeds to more than 5,000 additional homes and businesses.

Construction is already underway, and the company expects to start connecting customers in the newly served areas in the coming weeks, according to a release issued last week. The expansion is part of a broader Connecticut rollout that includes recent investments in Stratford and existing service in several major cities.

Tom Perrone, GoNetspeed’s chief operations officer, framed the project as a response to growing demand for higher bandwidth. “We understand the importance of a fast, reliable internet connection designed for current and future bandwidth needs, from supporting more devices to delivering faster speeds,” Perrone said. He added that the expansion will enable more Manchester residents to unlock the power of a 100% fiber-optic internet with multigigabit capabilities.

This Manchester investment brings GoNetspeed’s total spent in the city to $8.2 million, underscoring the company’s push to extend its fiber-to-the-home footprint beyond existing service areas in the state.

GoNetspeed noted that the Manchester build supports a broader Connecticut plan that already includes a $7 million project in Stratford and service in cities such as Ansonia, Bridgeport, Danbury, East Haven, New Haven and Hartford. A detailed timeline for full completion and the specific neighborhoods to be reached first were not disclosed.

Customers in the expansion areas should be able to begin connecting within weeks and can pre-order service online as construction continues. The company described the project as a strategic move to meet rising demand for high-speed, low-latency connectivity across Manchester and surrounding communities.
