Truvista to Acquire Commerce Municipal Network

Truvista Fiber will take over the City of Commerce’s municipal network in North Georgia, a move aimed at advancing the community’s digital future.

Truvista Fiber has announced it will assume control of the City of Commerce’s municipal telecommunications network in Georgia under a newly disclosed agreement.

Once the deal closes, the network will operate under the Truvista Fiber name, with the company outlining plans to upgrade the existing fiber infrastructure while keeping services running for current customers.

“Today marks an exciting new chapter for Commerce,” said Mayor J. Clark Hill III. He noted the city sought a partner capable of delivering cutting-edge connectivity to support growth in the economy, education, and healthcare, and added that Truvista’s blend of technical expertise and local culture was a key factor in the selection.

Truvista President and CEO Carla French described the move as part of the company’s Southeast expansion, following its December 2025 acquisition of SlyTel. “We are excited to bring the City of Commerce network and customers into Truvista,” she said, promising “best in class fiber technology” and an “unmatched customer experience.”

According to the release, Commerce fiber customers will not need to take immediate action; Truvista says it will preserve service continuity and implement planned upgrades with minimal disruption, with more details on upgrade timelines and support to be shared in the months ahead.
