Truvista Fiber expands on-site capacity to provide complimentary Wi‑Fi for Carolina Cup fans, while continuing as the event’s local network partner at Springdale Race Course.

Truvista Fiber has announced an expansion of its on-site capacity to deliver complimentary Wi‑Fi to fans seated in the grandstands at the Carolina Cup, the annual steeplechase hosted at Springdale Race Course in Camden, South Carolina.

For the March 28 meet, Truvista will manage on-site networking, marking its fourth consecutive year as the event’s local network provider. The upgraded setup is designed to support gate ticketing, vendor payments, and livestreaming of the races, ensuring a smoother experience for attendees and participants alike.

In a first for the Cup, the provider says it has increased on-site capacity to extend free Wi‑Fi to grandstand spectators, underscoring its commitment to enhancing the spectator experience while maintaining essential event operations.

“As a local company that’s been investing in the community for more than a century, we take a great deal of pride in supporting an event that brings 30,000 fans to Camden,” said Michelle Harvey, Truvista Fiber’s vice president of marketing. “A keystone event” for the region, the Cup benefits from strong community partnerships that help showcase Springdale Race Course and support local health services funding.

Along with its technology role, Truvista serves as the named sponsor of the Kid’s Zone at the venue. Adults can bring children 12 and under to the family area free of charge, which features activities such as face painting, inflatables, a petting zoo, and pony rides, all aligned with this year’s carnival theme that includes circus acts and stilt walkers.

Event organizers emphasize that corporate sponsorship is key to the Cup’s enduring appeal, with Toby Edwards, executive director, noting that partnerships help sustain the event for more than 90 years and contribute to regional health initiatives. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, with the Kid’s Zone operating from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and post time scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Attendance is historically around 30,000 spectators, reinforcing the Cup’s status as South Carolina’s premier social gathering.
