Starlink announces free internet credits for users in Venezuela through February 3, aiming to boost connectivity in the country.

Starlink, the satellite internet service from SpaceX, announced on its website that it will provide free service credits to Venezuela customers through February 3 to help keep people connected.

The credits will apply to both inactive accounts and active accounts, according to the company’s notice, with credits appearing on eligible users’ accounts.

Starlink kit owners in Venezuela can also select a roaming option—“Roam”—to use Starlink’s service within the country, the company said.

The move comes as part of Starlink’s broader effort to expand connectivity in markets where access has been limited or challenging, according to the announcement.

Starlink is a wholly owned subsidiary of SpaceX, Elon Musk’s aerospace company, and the credits are described as a way to support new and existing customers in Venezuela.

In its statement, Starlink emphasized that the focus is to enable connectivity for the people of Venezuela by providing free credits to both new and existing customers, with credits applied to inactive and active accounts alike.
