Vitalis Smart Communities has completed a formal procurement process that will bring fiber internet to the 248‑home Sandalwood Homeowners Association in Palm Beach Gardens. The Miami‑based telecom advisory firm said eight internet and television vendors responded to its request for proposals, with a local Florida internet provider selected for the contract.
The deal replaces the neighborhood’s legacy copper coaxial network with full fiber to each residence, delivering multi‑gig speeds described by Vitalis as 2 Gbps. The offering includes Wi‑Fi 7 technology and a bundled premium streaming TV package, all in a single bulk rate for residents.
Vitalis noted that the change is expected to yield substantial monthly savings for households—more than $150 per month—amounting to over $446,400 in annual savings for the community. The contract emphasizes defined performance standards, long‑term accountability, and a focus on community‑oriented customer service from the Florida‑based provider.
In outlining its approach, Vitalis characterized its role as a carrier‑agnostic advisor that manages sourcing and negotiations for HOAs, condominiums, and multifamily properties at no cost to residents, with compensation coming from the providers. Sandalwood’s board chose the recommended path after benchmarking pricing, technology, service commitments and contract terms.
Officials say the upgrade is intended to meet growing bandwidth needs tied to streaming, smart home devices, and future technologies while stabilizing costs for residents over the long term.
