Ripple Fiber has begun construction on its 100-percent fiber-optic network in Federal Way, Washington, the company announced, as part of a $250 million project to extend broadband access across King County and nearby areas.
Construction follows Ripple’s recent groundbreaking in Ocean Shores and will bring fiber-to-the-home service to more than 200,000 homes and businesses in King County and Grays Harbor County.
The company expects to launch service in Federal Way by summer 2026, with broader deployment planned as the project progresses.
“Successful infrastructure projects start with trust, early engagement, and collaboration,” said Mitzi McMahan, Ripple Fiber’s Director of Government Affairs. “The City of Federal Way and the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce have been thoughtful partners as we align this project with the community’s vision for growth, connectivity, and economic opportunity.”
As construction begins, residents are encouraged to pre-order online or by phone. Ripple Fiber promises a strong, dependable network with high bandwidth, symmetrical speeds, enhanced security, and improved reliability. Multi-gig packages are available with transparent pricing, no contracts, and no hidden fees, plus White Glove Installation for in-home setup and a 30-day Service Promise to ensure an exceptional start.
“A more connected city” is the aim, said Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell. “Expanding fiber infrastructure will help our community participate fully in today’s digital world.”
Ripple says it plans to open a Federal Way office to provide local support and is exploring additional opportunities to extend fiber internet access to surrounding areas across the state. Homeowners within the current build area will receive updates by mail and door hangers about construction timelines and what to expect as crews move in.
