A Parks Associates study, cited in a Beyond the Cable discussion with Xfinity Communities, finds that 41% of renters expect instant-on connectivity when they move into a new residence.

Parks Associates surveys roughly 8,000 internet households per quarter across the United States to track broadband and multifamily market trends.

Renters increasingly value frictionless move-in experiences, and multifamily operators are turning to managed Wi‑Fi as a premium offering with gigabit speeds to reduce first-day friction for new residents.

Security is also a growing focus: on‑site access-control features tied to managed Wi‑Fi can improve staff visibility and help manage deliveries while keeping residents safe.

Industry observers say managed Wi‑Fi should be viewed as an enabler for multiple revenue streams, with the market likely moving toward bundled or paid services as part of the building’s technology backbone.
