SpinLaunch, the California-based space-tech firm behind Meridian Space, has closed a $30 million financing round to accelerate its low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation deployment.

SpinLaunch, the California-based space-tech company behind the Meridian Space project, has closed a $30 million financing round to accelerate the development and deployment of its planned LEO satellite constellation.

Leading the round is ATW Partners, with a strategic investment from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, the companies announced. SpinLaunch said the funding will help push Meridian Space toward its initial customer link in the second half of 2026 and accelerate its go-to-market efforts.

SpinLaunch’ release highlights that early commercial traction signals growing demand for a cost‑efficient LEO satcom system built on an open-architecture design. These factors, the company notes, will help unlock broader adoption of Meridian Space’s capabilities.

David Wrenn, SpinLaunch’s Chief Innovation Officer, commented on the program’s technical progress: “Validating our reconfigurable reflectarray antenna through full-scale testing confirms we can deliver multi-band capability without the cost and complexity of traditional designs. This is a critical step toward the Meridian Space constellation and our operational objectives.”

Once completed, Meridian Space is expected to feature a reconfigurable reflectarray antenna, offering a compact, energy-efficient alternative to conventional satellite antennas and potentially shaping a new landscape for LEO communications with its open-architecture approach.
