Optimum announced a major fiber-to-the-home expansion in central New Jersey, starting with Woodbridge, Clark, and Linden as the first communities to gain access to its 100% fiber network, along with its mobile and TV services.

Optimum has begun rolling out its 100% fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network in central New Jersey, naming Woodbridge, Clark, and Linden as the first communities to gain access to its fiber internet, mobile, TV, and phone services.

The company said thousands of residents and businesses in these towns can sign up for the very first time, with nearby Winfield, Rahway, and Roselle expected to follow soon.

Optimum plans to extend fiber service to Carteret and Perth Amboy as part of the same rollout, with service anticipated by spring 2026.

The expansion is described as a roughly $40 million investment in New Jersey, reflecting Optimum’s ongoing push to upgrade to a 100% fiber network across the state. The company touts some of the fastest and most reliable speeds in the region, including symmetrical speeds up to 8 gigabits per second to support gaming, video production and large file work for households and small businesses.

Elton Hart, vice president and general manager of Optimum Tri-State, said the expansion demonstrates a long‑term commitment to New Jersey’s communities, “not just delivering the fastest, most reliable internet, but empowering residents and local businesses with the technology and support they need to thrive.”

Local officials welcomed the project as an economic and educational boost. Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac said Optimum’s fiber investment could spur “greater economic growth, educational opportunities, and innovation” across the town’s Ten Towns. Optimum also highlighted complementary services such as Optimum Mobile on a nationwide 5G network and Optimum Stream for television and streaming apps, noting it already serves more than 200 New Jersey communities and has invested heavily in 100% fiber upgrades in recent years.
