Bluepeak announced on Oct. 13 that it has upgraded connection speeds for more than 25,000 customers in South Dakota and Minnesota as part of a multi-year effort to expand and modernize its regional fiber network.
The complimentary upgrade raises customers’ minimum speeds to 300 Mbps, a change the company says will improve reliability for typical household uses such as streaming, remote work and online learning, while also supporting local businesses that rely on higher bandwidth.
CEO Rich Fish described the initiative as more than a technical upgrade, calling it an investment in the digital future of the communities Bluepeak serves and a driver of economic growth and opportunity.
The rollout fits into Bluepeak’s broader expansion across several states, including Oklahoma, Wyoming, North Dakota and Texas, with a continued emphasis on local hiring and community involvement in its infrastructure projects.
The company emphasized that the upgrades come at no additional cost to eligible customers, as part of its aim to raise overall service reliability and capacity across the region.
Bluepeak said the upgrades will strengthen its regional fiber backbone to better support both residential and small-business customers, aligning with its strategy to deliver high-speed, reliable internet across its service areas.
