Frequency One today released the 2026 Operator Infrastructure Maintenance Checklist, a voluntary, annual self-assessment tool designed to help rural broadband operators maintain the structural integrity of deployed infrastructure systems.
The checklist mirrors the 25 Critical System Integrity Checkpoints used within the Frequency One Independent Infrastructure Review (IIR) and is structured to evaluate foundational system elements that influence long-term network reliability, environmental survivability, and asset protection.
The 25-point framework targets areas including grounding integrity, bonding continuity, surge protection, conductor sizing, structural load compliance, power stability, redundancy architecture, thermal management, and system documentation.
Frequency One founder Bronner Davis said that rural networks involve significant long-term capital. “Disciplined annual verification of structural integrity helps reduce lifecycle costs, enhances insurability, and positions operators better when pursuing growth capital,” he added.
Offered as a voluntary resource, the checklist can be used internally to maintain documentation and system discipline. Operators seeking third-party validation may request a formal Independent Infrastructure Review by Frequency One.
The 2026 edition reflects a maturing industry that increasingly emphasizes structured infrastructure governance as rural networks transition from early deployment to durable, financeable assets. The company also notes ongoing opportunities for information sharing through the Broadband Communities newsletter.
