Direct Communications has launched mobile services using gaiia, the AI-driven OSS/BSS platform, bringing a new connectivity option to market in roughly 60 days. The rollout leverages Direct’s existing operational environment, which already runs broadband provisioning, billing, and product catalog within gaiia, allowing mobile to be introduced without stitching together new systems.
The company had previously migrated its broadband operations to gaiia in 2025, enabling the mobile launch to occur within a single platform. This approach eliminates the need for separate billing or provisioning workflows and minimizes operational complexity while expanding the company’s product portfolio.
Customers can add a mobile plan during the online ordering flow for internet service. During checkout, Direct Communications shoppers can select a mobile plan, bring their own device, port an existing number, and confirm eSIM compatibility — all within the same checkout experience as broadband service.
Behind the scenes, gaiia’s workflow engine automates activation, deactivation, and service changes, using the same framework that powers broadband provisioning. Customer service representatives manage both mobile and broadband services in a single interface, simplifying training and support, and customers receive a single, consolidated invoice for both services.
