Comcast Begins Teays Valley Internet Buildout

Comcast has kicked off a multi-year expansion to deliver symmetrical high-speed internet to Teays Valley, West Virginia, broadening service to Hurricane and Scott Depot.

Comcast is moving ahead with a large-scale fiber expansion in Teays Valley to deliver symmetrical high-speed internet to more than 7,500 homes and businesses. The rollout will extend across Teays Valley and into nearby Hurricane and Scott Depot as part of a broader push to upgrade the company’s converged network.

Construction is already underway in both Hurricane and Scott Depot. In Hurricane, more than 5,000 addresses are planned to be connected, with first serviceable locations expected in early 2026. Scott Depot will add over 2,500 addresses, and portions of the community already have service available to some residents. The full project is targeted for completion in 2028.

The company described the Teays Valley expansion as a key step in extending its nationwide network, which Comcast says now serves more than 64 million U.S. homes and businesses with converged broadband services.

Local officials welcomed the investment. Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards said the expansion could help residents thrive in a technology-driven economy and boost the appeal of the area as a place to live and work.

In addition to the infrastructure work, Comcast highlighted efforts to boost adoption and digital skills, including its Internet Essentials program for eligible households and Wi‑Fi Lift Zones and other connectivity initiatives designed to increase economic mobility in West Virginia.

West Virginia has also seen other Comcast projects, such as a Princeton-area buildout to connect thousands of homes and businesses, highlighting the company’s ongoing push to expand fiber and converged-network coverage in the state.
