Connected Nation has launched an online BEAD Tracker that compiles data from final proposals submitted by states and U.S. territories, providing a state-by-state view of planned broadband deployments.
The tracker pulls data from about 95% of jurisdictions and enables users to explore details such as technology types, the providers awarded BEAD funds, and other deployment specifics.
According to the tracker, 54 proposals are under review, with BEAD-funded plans projected to reach roughly four million locations nationwide. Deployment costs are reported to exceed $20 billion, though this total remains well below the funding originally authorized by Congress under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law in 2021.
Colin Reilly, vice president of data strategy at Connected Nation, noted that revised guidance from Washington prompted states to revisit BEAD spending, and the dashboard now reflects the results of those shifts.
Chris McGovern, Connected Nation’s director of research development, said the BEAD dashboard lets taxpayers monitor and compare how states and territories implement their BEAD plans, including technology choices and how funds are allocated to homes, community institutions, and businesses.
