Wire 3 has begun connecting customers in Leesburg, marking the company’s first active fiber hookups in Lake County.
The Florida-based provider says the initial Leesburg deployment is part of a broader plan to extend 100% fiber coverage across the county and beyond, with a multi-neighborhood rollout already underway.
The rollout is backed by a privately funded $50 million investment, and Wire 3 is marketing a “10 Gig” service that promises symmetric upload and download speeds, along with a five-year price lock for early adopters.
Wire 3 CEO Jai Ramachandran described the Leesburg launch as just the beginning for Lake County, noting the project is staffed and powered locally in Florida.
Expansion plans call for a neighborhood-by-neighborhood approach across Leesburg, with the network slated to reach Clermont, Eustis, Minneola, Mount Dora and Tavares in the coming months, backed by a projected countywide investment exceeding $150 million.
The company positions its offering as multigigabit, with Amazon eero equipment and no-contract plans, positioning the service as ten times faster than traditional cable.
