TAK Expands Southern California Footprint

TAK Broadband expands its Southern California footprint by acquiring Gulbranson Services, a Victorville-based contractor with deep drop and FTTH construction expertise.

TAK Broadband announced it has acquired Gulbranson Services, Inc. (GSI), a Victorville, California-based telecom contractor with extensive experience in drop bury, maintenance, and fiber-to-the-home construction. The move broadens TAK’s presence in Southern California and brings an experienced field team to support deployments across the region.

The acquisition adds GSI’s proven capabilities to TAK’s portfolio, enabling the company to extend its operations across all of Southern California and bolster its California footprint with a seasoned drops and construction workforce.

GSI, founded in 2005 and headquartered in Victorville, primarily serves Riverside and San Bernardino counties. TAK said the deal will accelerate growth by leveraging GSI’s existing relationships and on-the-ground expertise to support last‑mile connectivity programs in the state.

Private equity firm Platinum Equity, TAK’s owner since March 2024, framed the transaction as part of a broader plan to diversify TAK’s customer base and expand recurring revenue through tuck‑in acquisitions. Company executives described the broadband services market as highly fragmented and indicated that further organic growth and acquisitions are likely.

“Part of our investment thesis is to pursue accretive tuck‑in acquisitions that diversify TAK’s customer base and increase recurring revenue,” said Co‑President Jacob Kotzubei and Managing Director Dan Krasner. “GSI accelerates progress on both fronts.”
