Charter Communications has tapped John Lee to head a new Intelligence Ventures unit, a role focused on turning the company's proprietary data signals and AI capabilities into privacy-conscious products and partnerships.
Lee will lead a dedicated team charged with developing “privacy-safe” solutions designed to deliver measurable value for marketers, agencies, platforms and enterprise customers, the company announced.
In a statement, Rich DiGeronimo, Charter's president of product and technology and Lee's direct supervisor, said the executive brings deep experience in building data-driven products and organizations across media, technology and advertising.
DiGeronimo added that Lee's work will help broaden how Charter leverages its data and AI to develop new products and revenue streams, expanding partnerships while accelerating growth.
Lee's background includes founding Scout Data Advisors in 2024; previously serving as NBCUniversal's chief data officer since 2021, and a 13-year tenure at Merkle in senior strategy roles. The company notes he brings nearly 30 years of experience across media, commerce, and customer experience and was named to DataIQ100 in 2024.
