Great Plains Communications announces a 165-mile fiber expansion bringing enterprise-grade connectivity to Louisville, Lexington and more in Kentucky.

Great Plains Communications (GPC) announced the expansion of its fiber-optic network into Kentucky, rolling out a 165-mile build across the state’s central markets.

Dubbed GPC Fiber, the new network will offer enterprise-grade internet and managed services with speeds from 1 Gigabit to 400 Gigabits, featuring fully redundant fiber paths and deep carrier interconnections.

The build targets the Louisville and Lexington core markets and extends to Frankfort, Jeffersontown, Simpsonville, Shelbyville, Bridgeport, Georgetown and Versailles, expanding GPC’s 13-state footprint.

GPC Fiber is designed to serve businesses, wholesale customers, wireless carriers and hyperscalers with scalable connectivity and services such as SD-WAN, managed Wi-Fi, private wavelengths and more.

“Expanding into Kentucky reflects our commitment to building infrastructure that businesses need to thrive in a digital-first economy,” said Christopher Sikora, Chief Revenue Officer of GPC. “From high-capacity internet access to secure managed Wi‑Fi, SD-WAN and voice solutions, our goal is to power daily operations with reliability and speed.”

“We tailor network designs to each customer’s needs, whether single-location businesses or distributed enterprises, and we’re confident in Kentucky’s growth and our ability to support it,” added Tony Thakur, Chief Technology Officer of GPC.

The initiative reinforces GPC’s position as a partner of choice for organizations seeking high-capacity connectivity across the United States and the broader Great Plains footprint.
