During SCTE TechExpo25, Harmonic and Mediacom demonstrated a live DOCSIS 4.0 environment in Moline, delivering symmetric multi-gigabit speeds to real customers and moving DOCSIS 4.0 from the lab into an operational, field-ready deployment.
At the core is Harmonic’s cOS virtualized broadband platform with a PTP-less core and Unified Pebble-2 Remote PHY Devices (RPDs) inside Ripple modular DAA nodes, integrated with Mediacom’s network in an ultra-high-split configuration to unlock extended spectrum and stronger upstream performance.
Harmonic’s booth featured a live feed, speed tests and real-time analytics to illustrate the improved connectivity and subscriber experience enabled by DOCSIS 4.0.
“This collaboration demonstrates to operators that DOCSIS 4.0 is practical and accessible,” said JR Walden, CTO of Mediacom. “The technology brings blazing-fast speeds, greater reliability and the ability to close the digital divide for the communities we serve.”
The deployment highlights real-world application, readiness for widescale deployment and ongoing analytics for user experience, signaling a path toward broader adoption of Harmonic and Mediacom’s DOCSIS 4.0 solution in service-provider networks of all sizes.
