Amplex Internet today announced the completion of Phase 1 of its rural fiber-optic expansion in Ottawa County, Ohio, delivering 5 gigabit fiber connectivity to residents and businesses across the county.
The milestone was celebrated on-site with Charles Tassell, the USDA’s State Director for Rural Development in Ohio, along with Amplex leadership and project partners, underscoring the importance of public-private cooperation in expanding broadband access.
USDA General Field Representative Anthony Tindall also attended and highlighted the collaboration that supports the 100% fiber optic network being built across parts of Ottawa County.
Carroll Township Trustees Jim Meek and Sandra Shearon spoke about the benefits for rural families and local businesses, and the event featured members of the Myer Construction Crew, including Supervisor Tyler Myers, who described the construction process to attendees.
From Amplex, CEO Mark Radabaugh, CTO Omar Yasin, and Business Sales Manager Ryan Hill joined to thank the teams and discuss ongoing plans to extend fiber services to additional areas of the county as the project progresses into subsequent phases.
The project positions rural Ohio at the forefront of internet technology and demonstrates the impact of coordinated investment in fiber infrastructure.
