Mediacom Communications has begun offering multi-gig, symmetrical broadband services to nearly 12,000 households in Clinton, Iowa, introducing packages that include a 300 Mbps down/100 Mbps up tier, a 1 Gig symmetrical tier, and a 2 Gig Unlimited tier (2,000 Mbps down/1,000 Mbps up).
Upgrades were delivered over Mediacom’s fiber-rich network, with no need for extensive new construction, the company said, highlighting the efficiency of expanding existing fiber infrastructure in the region.
New services are complemented by an Advanced Wi‑Fi package that utilizes eero’s TrueMesh technology, designed to provide more reliable in-home wireless performance for faster internet speeds.
Beau Hicks, Mediacom’s senior director of area operations, framed the expansion as part of a broader effort to bring cutting-edge technologies to the small cities and towns the company serves. Clinton residents were invited to an open house at a new Mediacom office on South 25th Street the week of October 27 to meet representatives and learn more about the offerings.
The Xtream Connect subsidized plan remains available, delivering 100 Mbps down/20 Mbps up for $14.99 per month plus modem rental for qualifying households. The plan is available to households participating in federal programs such as SNAP, Medicaid and the National School Lunch Program, in an effort to preserve affordable options as speeds rise.
