CHR Solutions has unveiled an expanded drone-based data-collection program designed to speed BEAD deployments and enhance safety for field crews.
The initiative uses high-resolution aerial surveys to map new fiber routes and assess sites for construction, employing orthomosaic imagery and GIS-ready datasets to support fast, design-to-construction workflows.
Bob Bartz, CHR’s EVP of engineering services, says drones enable teams to gather precise field intelligence more quickly and with fewer safety risks than traditional methods—an advantage as BEAD-funded builds grow and AI-driven data centers expand.
CHR notes that the drone data program significantly broadens its capabilities, positioning the firm to help clients move rapidly from design to construction, reduce bottlenecks, and keep pace with today’s infrastructure demands.
Industry trends mirror CHR’s strategy: drone adoption across infrastructure and construction is accelerating, with industry surveys estimating that around 60% of U.S. construction firms were using drones in 2024–2025.
